Combining laboratory measurements and proximal soil sensing data in digital soil mapping approaches

چکیده
Digital soil mapping (DSM) products are limited in accuracy because of the lack inputs. Soil sensing is a promising alternative to direct measurements that could provide much denser spatial samplings. Although using relevant and detailed input DSM considered as vital increase prediction performances, there has been no studies literature compare develop methods for integrating new sources data can be applied inputs DSM. This paper fills this gap on example electrical conductivities from sites with laboratory measurements, in-field EM38MK2 spatially exhaustive covariates. Three different approaches tested putting synergy real measurements: (i) measurement measured points, (ii) used building covariate (iii) soft regression co-kriging approach. According analysis's financial expenditure, choosing an optimal sample size merge analysis surrogate was done best method. The results showed utility salinity Regression method integration impact gains performance becomes greater sizes decrease. Hence, other areas worldwide accessible, research's future utilization possible way tackle one essential constraints

On digital soil mapping
We review various recent approaches to making digital soil maps based on geographic information systems (GIS) data layers, note some commonalities and propose a generic framework for the future. We discuss the various methods that have been, or could be, used for fitting quantitative relationships between soil properties or classes and their ‘environment’. These include generalised linear model...
متن کاملProximal Sensing and Digital Terrain Models Applied to Digital Soil Mapping and Modeling of Brazilian Latosols (Oxisols)
Digital terrain models (DTM) have been used in soil mapping worldwide. When using such models, improved predictions are often attained with the input of extra variables provided by the use of proximal sensors, such as magnetometers and portable X-ray fluorescence scanners (pXRF). This work aimed to evaluate the efficiency of such tools for mapping soil classes and properties in tropical conditi...
متن کاملSensing and 3D Mapping of Soil Compaction
Soil compaction is an important physical limiting factor for the root growth and plant emergence and is one of the major causes for reduced crop yield worldwide. The objective of this study was to generate 2D/3D soil compaction maps for different depth layers of the soil. To do so, a soil penetrometer was designed, which was mounted on the three-point hitch of an agricultural tractor, consistin...

متن کاملMapping Spatial Variability of Soil Salinity Using Remote Sensing Data and Geostatistical Analysis: A Case of Shadegan, Khuzestan
Extended abstract 1- Introduction Soil salinity is one of the most important desertification parameters in many parts of the world. Thus, preparing soil salinity maps in macro scales is necessary. Water and soil salinity as one of the contributing parameters in desertification, cause soil and vegetation degradation. Soil salinization represents many negative effects on the earth systems such ...
